Maneuvering

After mastering how to operate the controls and basic maneuvering, the focus in this module shifts to learning how to perform more advanced maneuvers. This includes driving in reverse, parking and docking. All the exercises of this module take place on the maneuvering area or test track. The main objective in this stage is for the driver to develop operational skills.

Advanced Training - Driving in Traffic

Once the driver knows how to operate the truck efficiently, we move from the driving range and test track onto driving on virtual roads with varying levels of traffic. The driver is exposed to more complicated, real life driving scenarios,  including how to make proper lane changes, negotiate intersections, passing other vehicles, dealing with narrow lanes, turning left and right, merging and more.

The exercises of this module are designed to hone in the drivers defensive driving behavior. Night Driving

This module is designed to teach the driver how to drive safely at night on two-lane, rural roads.  We stress the importance of using the proper lighting to maximize visibility, in order to identify potential risk and hazards sooner, giving the driver more time to react. The module includes a series of driving scenarios, with potential hazards, risky situations and accident avoidance, including vehicles and pedestrians.

Free Driving

This module provides unlimited practice driving anywhere in the virtual world including a loading dock, downtown district, multi-lane highway, rural roads, mountain, residential area and driving range. This enables the driver to further hone safe driving behavior, while also becoming more familiar with the handling characteristics of their vehicle. Scenario configuration includes time of day, weather conditions, traffic density and error checking.

That’s why our highly advanced simulation graphics software has been designed using the latest, cutting-edge software development tools available on the market today.    These highly evolved, specialized technologies render what may arguably be considered the most lifelike visual scenery of any of its competitors. 

Lighting effects include natural sunlight glare, reflection, photo-realistic vehicles, pedestrians, photo-textured buildings, and more. Realistic particle effects include rain that accurately blurs on windshield, falling snow, and both straight line & wind gust simulation that not only has a corresponding effect on handling, but even blows trees and foliage.

IOS-3 Multi-View Instructor Station

Following the same philosophy we built into our driver training software – intuitive and user friendly, yet powerful operation – our IOS-3 Multi-View Instructor Station is designed to beautiful in both form and function.

In order to achieve our goal of making our advanced simulators so easy to use that the operator could run it without any formal training, we incorporated an icon-based user interface with simple point and click operation. Yet, we still provide the instructor the ability to control multiple facets of each simulation exercise in real time including:

  • Modifying weather conditions including light and heavy rain, light and dense fog, snow, and wind, or a combination of multiple conditions at the same time
  • Changing the time of day
  • Interjecting a mechanical failure including engine overheating, brake fade, tire blowouts, etc.

In addition to the 80+ scenarios and exercises already pre-built into the software, our IOS-3 will also allow the instructor to create his or her own scenarios using our unique Free Drive module, which automates ambient traffic and pedestrian behavior. This enables the creation of specific exercises that can be tailored to virtually any training application! 
Our IOS-3 Multi-View console will include a high performance computer with three HD LED displays, ancillary components, networking and software.  This system has been engineered to support multiple simulators from a single IOS, and will be able to offer the ability to print reports, and store / retrieve data. The three screen panorama displays a range of pertinent data for the instructor to review relating to the performance of the driver.

This handy device, runs specialized software tailored to run on an Android tablet, which gives more flexibility to the instructor and simplicity of use that is second to none! The instructor can load a scenario, modify weather or time of day, induce mechanical failures, shift the load and more, with the added freedom of controlling the simulator from anywhere in the room.

Reporting Capabilities

Our software uses multiple layers of grading and assessment that include error summary reporting, detailed eco-drive efficiency reports, and pass / fail among others. 

As a whole, our simulation software is built around a pedagogical syllabus, and updates the trainee’s progress through the syllabus for each exercise: success/failure, number of attempts, exercise time, driving time, total time, etc. The syllabus is organized into main modules, lessons and ultimately exercises.
