A delegation of Polish Naval Academy Professors (former submarine officers), responsible of the project and directors of training courses, have participated to the FAT in ECA Group factory in Genova (Italy). Their presence have given to ECA Group engineers the possibility to work closely with the customer representatives, who have tested the ECA Group submarine simulator software. The final tests have been made in Polish Naval Academy in Gdynia after the shipment and installation of the simulation system.
The Polish Naval Academy is the main Polish Naval and Maritime Training Centre. Both Civil Merchant Navy Officers and Military Officers are studying in the Academy, which is thus forming the future of the Polish Naval Sector. ECA Group is pleased to have successfully finalized this important project as a first step of a long-lasting cooperation with the Polish Navy.
The actual Submarine Simulation System is made of a section dedicated to navigation and submarine Maneuvering and a section dedicated to tactical training on the use of a sonar. The Submarine Simulator project will allow to perform: complete training for cadets, refresh training for professional crews and also be used as a lab for research projects.
The next step for this project in collaboration with the Polish Naval Academy will be the delivery of ECA Group Water & Ballast Simulation System, an optional section of the original contract, which has been activated by the customer and will be delivered within the end of 2015.
