ECA Group successfully demonstrates its R7 ROV’s operational efficiency to the Belgian Navy and Police
Securing inshore areas and city harbours from underwater mines is essential to guarantee the safety of populations and to protect a nation’s economy. At ECA Group, supporting government authorities’ capability to address underwater mine threats is crucial.
During the trials, in operational conditions and in a harsh environment, the R7 ROV inspected the port, detected and approached a suspicious object, and, neutralised it with Alford Technologies’ device.
- The R7 ROV is easy to manipulate thanks to its 100% digital architecture and highly intuitive Human/Machine interface.
- Designed to perform a wide range of tasks, the R7 ROV’s modular architecture can integrate several plugins such as sensors and manipulator arms.
- Compact and robust, the R7 ROV operates in restricted and difficult environments.
- Generating highly detailed real-time images, the operators can work on meticulous tasks.
This successful demonstration confirms the R7 ROV as a concrete solution in support of harbour protection.
Philippe Roumegue, Business Director at ECA Group comments on this trial:
To further meet the Navies’ operational requirements, ECA Group demonstrated the high performances of its new high tech ROV in very difficult weather conditions and underwater visibility limited to a few centimetres.
