ECA GROUP provides swift pipe inspection system for demonstration purposes in Ukraine

Ukraine is an emerging market for the pipe inspection sector; its drinking and waste water networks will need to be checked in the upcoming years.

ECA GROUP has appointed PE "Inkla-Kyiv" as its distributor in Ukraine for its pipe inspection system range, to whom it has provided a light Z-Pipe Viewer system demonstration unit.

By introducing the Z- pipe Viewer to the Ukrainian market, ECA GROUP proposes a new way of running traditional pipe inspection operations.

The usual way of running an overall waste water pipe inspection is to introduce an electric trolley carrying the TV camera inside the pipe. However, this method requires a preliminary hydro-cleaning operation in the pipe, since the progression of the trolley over long distances implies a cleaned pipe.

ECA GROUP’s Z-Pipe Viewer system allows users to quickly identify a major dysfunction within the network (such as a big deposit, intrusion of roots, collapse, penetrating lateral pipe…),  without requiring a preliminary hydro-cleaning operation.

This portable system allows a swift inspection of pipes with an internal diameter of between 100 and 800mm, directly from the manhole: the operator introduces a pole into the manhole, equipped with a powerful zoom TV camera and associated lights. This enables the user to view the pipe over a distance of up to 30m, in both directions. The operation is very fast, provides accurate and precise results and can be performed by a single operator.
