ECA Group helds a successful seminar: AUV & ROV subsea survey solutions for offshore services and energy operators

Monday, February 22 2016
ECA Group organized a seminar presenting solutions for survey and unexploded ordnance (UXO) detection using a combined solution of autonomous underwater vehicle: A9, AUV, and remotely operated vehicle solution: K-STER.

This successful event  and was an opportunity to discuss about pre-lay surveys solutions necessary for any subsea construction with professionals in offshore services and energy operators.

The visitors could appreciate the AUV A9, a man portable system easy to deploy from any vessel which offer new opportunity for cost savings while maintaining safety and efficiency to the highest standard. Its patented system of navigation guarantee a very accurate fly close from the seabed both with challenging relief (for example: dunes) or water current, enhancing the data quality compare to conventional hull mounted sonar or towed fish. Multitasking operation made by AUV, K-STER and potentially unmanned surface vehicle (USV) can be managed from the same vessel improving sharply speed survey and reducing survey OPEX.

“The K-STER offers autonomous mode capable to reach directly the potential UXO target for real time inspection” explains ECA Group Mine Disposal System Product Manager.

The group of work could appreciate a real time post processing using TRITON Survey Suite. After detection of potential UXO, the autonomous mode of K-STER directly reach the target before real time inspection.

Real Time qualification of Potential target

“It was an opportunity for specialists in the field to share the company's vision for pre-lay survey offering a complete package of technology from de detection up to the destruction of UXOs." says ECA Group Business Manager of Oil & Gas – Offshore department.

ECA Group designs and commercializes technologies dedicated to counter mine measure and UXO inspection for more than 50 years. Thank to a complete and technological package of solution, services companies will perform faster and more efficient survey reducing expenditures of operators.
