ECA Group demonstrates its Mobile System for Port and Coastal Protection
ECA Group operating the Mobile system for harbour and coastal protectionSpring 2017, ECA Group successfully demonstrated its unmanned solution for Port and Coastal Protection, based on several robotic systems: USV Inspector Mk2 and a UAV IT180-60, controlled and supervised from a centralized Command and Control center based onshore (see article). The demonstration took place in the Toulon area, south of France.
This ECA Group’s unmanned solution, dedicated to homeland and security missions, is a comprehensive system capable to detect, track and interdict potentially dangerous air, sea and undersea threats like malicious UAVs, terrorist fast attack boats or divers. This solution can be deployed stand alone or integrated in a more complex system for global maritime critical infrastructure protection.
The scenario of the live demonstration included a simulated intruder that managed to reach the area under surveillance by the USV Inspector and the UAV IT180. After successful detection with embarked radar and electro-optical devices, the identified threat was forced to leave the area by means of inoffensive but effective non-lethal weapons.
The commission assisting to the event expressed satisfaction of the achieved results, thanks to one of the most technologically advanced innovative Robotic Systems on the market today.
ECA Group welcomes any other Homeland Security Agency interested to procure such equipment.
