ECA Group delivers water well inspection system for Egypt’s Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation
All water boreholes must, over time, be inspected internally to detect possible damages on the well casing and bottom screens. TV cameras allow this inspection, but the 1100m depth requires multiplexing the signals on a mono coaxial cable, a technology that the ECA Group has developed and masters since many years.
Therefore its BH Viewer 2000 TV system is perfectly adapted for the introduction of a sophisticated colour TV camera and associated lights into the borehole up to this 1100m depth.
Thanks to its swiveling head equipped with lasers, the TV camera accomplishes the inspection of the borehole lateral walls and bottom screens. This BH Viewer 2000 TV system can also incorporate sensors for inclination and trajectory measurement of the borehole during the TV inspection, as well a measurement of cracks and defects directly from the video; A dedicated reporting software allows the edition of the inspection report.
This contract was obtained via the Utility & Positioning Systems Company, the ECA Group partner in Egypt, and ended up with the very first delivery of a borehole system in this country.
