Wednesday, April 24 2019
ECA Group supplies a 5 function electric manipulator arm to be integrated onto a manned submarine ICTINEU 3, operating in Europe to conduct scientific missions subsea.

ECA Group delivered an Arm 5E, a 5 functions electric manipulator arm to the Spanish Ictineu Submarins SL company, to equip its Ictineu 3 manned submarines, which are 3-person underwater vehicles rated to 1200m depth.

For such a manned scientific submarine, a performing, efficient and lightweight manipulator arm is a key feature. That's why ECA Group lightweight 5 functions oil filled 5E model electric manipulators, fulfilled totally the requirements of the client.

Once installed of the manned submarine this arm permits the collection and retrieval of samples or other objects, and thereby offer an extension of the scope of Ictineu’s scientific / archeological missions or industrial interventions.
