ECA GROUP delivers a H300V ROV for Search & Rescue operations in the Middle East
ECA GROUP supports Search and Rescue (SAR) operations with efficient and reliable robotic solutions at sea to identify potential risks, theats to rescuers or provide first response, as for example: ship or submarine in distress etc...
The contracting entity, located in the Middle East was looking for a ROV that would be compact, lightweight, while well-equipped and offering a high level of performance, to conduct underwater SAR operations.
The customer selected ECA GROUP's compact and air transportable H300V Remotely Operated Vehicle. Its unique features and handiness makes it perfect for easy and quick deployment, while being equipped with sensor providing high quality imagery in real time to support interventions.
Further to a tender, ECA GROUP was awarded the contract from this Public Institution for the supply of a H300V ROV, Remotely Operated Vehicle equipped as per the specifications linked to Search & Rescue operations :
- An USBL acoustic positioning system permitting to locate the target;
- A micro 5 function electric manipulator arm mounted on a skid under the ROV, and incorporating its own buoyancy blocks; this arm permits to extract and bring back to surface some objects of interest for the mission; this arm can also bring to professional divers the tools they require for their rescue operation;
- A 400m long umbilical cable is installed on a manual winch.
The ROV was delivered further to a 4 days training session within ECA GROUP premises in France and the commissioning procedure.
H300V, a compact & lightweight ROV tailored for SAR operations
The ECA GROUP, with its H300V ROV, offers an excellent solution for this kind of demanding application. Powerful while compact and able to operate in rough sea condition, this Remotely Operated Vehicle is also highly equipped in sonar and viewing systems.
This lightweight ROV - less than 100 kg in basic configuration - incorporates 4 vectored horizontal thrusters which secure to the ROV both increased power and excellent manoeuvrability and stability in all horizontal directions. This ROV can operate up to 300m depth.
Besides, its open frame design permits an easy incorporation of additional sensors, manipulator arms or actuators, either inside the ROV or mounted on underneath attached skids.
Whatever the depth, the acoustic positioning system, as well as sonars and low light B/W camera installed on the ROV will help identifying objects underwater. When close-by, the zoom color TV camera and strong LED lights mounted on the P/T unit can complete the identification tasks. If pertinent the ROV can be equipped with a still camera to permit real time transmission of very high definition photos.
