For 50 years, the Orano la Hague site has developed valuable know-how to offer utilities a way to recycle their fuel after it has been used in nuclear power plants, recovering its radioactive materials for use in fresh fuel.
Within this nuclear site, a large number of cells present a very high level of radiations (rated zone 4); hence the in situ process has to be remotely controlled by means of radiation tolerant TV inspection systems. Such systems include a Pan &Tilt unit permitting, with the TV camera and lights they carry, an omnidirectional viewing.
As a solution, ECA Group proposed its remotely controlled radiation tolerant Pan &Tilt unit VSLT346NiTM, offering also a remote handling of the viewing camera.
ECA Group has been granted a framework agreement for the supply of 20 of these P&T units, with a phased delivery program over the next two years.
A first order has been received for the delivery of 7 units in spring 2018.
