ECA Group confirms its commitment to French Army – UAV 180 supported during the health crisis

While the world was idling due to the COVID-19 health crisis, ECA Group’s teams mobilized their efforts to keep the equipment used by French Army in operational condition in order to ensure the safety of men and the efficiency of field operations.
Throughout the health crisis period in May and June 2020 ECA Group delivered equipment for UAVs IT180 of the French Army.
"In terms of outstanding repairs and equipment deliveries, handling of technical facts, updating documentation, ECA Group’s team were mobilized remarkably and notably in the way they supported our operational activity during the lockdown period" – a word coming from the Fleet and drone projects unit of the Aeronautical Maintenance Department.

About the Drogen - IT180 UAV
The IT180 is a versatile Vertical Take-Off (VTOL) Rotary Wing Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). The IT180 UAV has been in service since 2012 in the Engineer units of the French Army (Génie) under the name DroGen (“Drone for Génie”).
Its observation capabilities, low noise footprint and ease of use, ensures troops a perfect control of the immediate environment and confirmation of intelligence on a particular point up to 3 kilometres ahead of a convoy.
Operational in the theatre of operations in just a few minutes thanks to its compact design, the IT180 aerial drone provides real-time high quality images and videos, day or night.
It is particularly suited for missions such as: close reconnaissance, improvised explosive devices (IED) detection, convoy escort and area surveillance.
