DPSim/DPSTim
The DP module is a system that simulates the DP module of a modern ship, that by controlling the ship’s propulsion system ( thruster, rudder, screw, z.pod, Voith Schneider) allows to maintain a certain desired position/orientation in automatic or semiautomatic configuration by the interfacing within several vessel sensors ( wind sensor, GPS/DGPS, Gyro etc. ). Main purpose of dynamic positioning systems controller is to calculate the resulting force to be exerted by the thrusters/propellers in order for the vessel to remain on station or to conduct a specific manoeuver. DP simulator is available in DP1 configuration, with one DP system simulated, as well as DP2 and DP3 redundant configurations.
